staff runs ti leaf and flower lei-making classes, and each day local Hawaiian
vendors come to the hotel to "talk story" with the guests while they carve tikis;
weave baskets, hats and fans; and sell their crafts. Throughout the public areas
the sounds of Hawaiian music can be heard and every night at dusk the Royal
Lahaina Resort holds a traditional torchlighting ceremony while telling the
tale of the Hawaiian Goddess, Pele. In the Royal Ocean Terrace Lounge, guests
