PRIVACY POLICY
Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts is committed to protecting the privacy of our website visitors and users. This privacy policy ("Policy") describes the practices that apply to our website, including, specifically, the information we collect about you, when and how we collect that information and what may happen to that information. We have prepared a detailed privacy policy because we believe you should know as much as possible about our practices so that you can make an informed decision about the extent of your use on our site. Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts website is intended for use by residents of the U.S. that are over 18 years of age.
Visiting
You may visit our website without revealing who you are or providing any Personal Information. When you visit our site we do collect usage information, but it is anonymous and is not linked to you as an individual. We use this data to better understand things including how our site is navigated, how many visitors arrive at specific pages, the length and frequency of stays on our site, the variety of searches on our site's database, the types of browsers and computer operating systems used by our visitors and the Internet Protocol addresses from which our visitors connect to our site. We use this information to improve usability and site content.
Information We Collect
When making a reservation with Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts you are required to provide your full name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and credit card information. In addition, we will store your email address as your log-in name and you will be asked to create a password for future ease of use. This information is collected on the reservation form for: (1) personal identification; (2) to complete car and hotel reservations; (3) to allow us to contact you for customer service, if necessary. In addition, your e-mail address is collected to send you a confirmation notice of each reservation you transact online, and to provide you with information about special offers, and promotions that we feel may be of interest to you. However, you may always decline to receive these e-mail messages. Please see our Opt-Out policy described below.
Opt-Out
We give you an important choice ("opt-out") about receiving advertisements, updates and promotions via e-mail. We hope you will find these items interesting and informative however, please let us know if you do not want us to use your e-mail address to deliver notices highlighting promotions, contests, and other travel opportunities available on our website and/or sponsored by our travel service providers and advertisers.
We use an email delivery and marketing system to send emails that you have agreed to receive. Pixel tags and cookies are used in those email messages and at our website to help us measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to study how visitors use our site.
Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell individual customer names or other private profile information to third parties and have no intention of doing so in the future. Generally, we only disclose your Personal Information to those travel providers that you decide to make arrangements with through our site, for example, to purchase a rental car, hotel, or other involved third party to ensure the successful fulfillment of your travel arrangements. We use our reasonable efforts to ensure that these travel providers will also protect your Personal Information. At times, we may contract with other companies to perform various functions necessary to operate our business - for example, processing credit cards. We will share with these companies only that Personal Information they require to process your orders. These companies agree that they will not use or disclose that Personal Information for any other purpose.
Other than as explained in this policy, we will not disclose any Personal Information we collect from you to others without your permission, except in certain limited circumstances: (a) to protect the security of our site and our rights under our Terms and Conditions; (b) to protect ourselves against liability; (c) in response to legal process, (d) if we believe in good faith that the law requires it; or (e) in connection with a sale of our business or company.
Cookies and Pixel Tags
We, or a third-party advertiser acting on our behalf, may place a "cookie" or "pixel tag" on your personal computer when you come to the site or visit a site on which we advertise. When we ask for your credit card information to make your reservation, your information is secured from unauthorized access through market leading firewall technology and through industry standard encryption technology known as Secured Sockets Layer (SSL).

Privacy Policy Revisions
We may change this policy from time to time. If we decide to change this policy in a material way (for example, a change regarding disclosure of Personal Information), we will post notice of the change on our site at least thirty (30) days prior to putting the change into effect. If any proposed change is unacceptable to you, you may request that we remove your Personal Information from our records.

Reservations Policy
Payment Information
All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. Once you confirm your credit card information and intention to book we will charge your credit card to reserve your reservation. For stays of one night we will charge the full price of the reservation. For all other lengths of stay a two-night deposit, plus tax, will be charged. This deposit policy applies from January 2, 2008 - December 22, 2008.
The full stay will be charged to your credit card for reservations arriving December 23, 2008 - January 3, 2009.
Any remaining payments will be charged by the Kaanapali Ocean Inn at time of check-out.
Room Rates
Room rates are quoted in U.S. Dollars (USD) per room, for two persons. Room rates do not include individual resort fees, taxes, gratuities, other guest services and incidentals, and parking charges, where applicable. All package deliveries received prior to check-in will be assessed handling fees. Please contact the hotel directly to arrange storage and for specific information regarding any additional charges.
Hotel
The hotel reservation is confirmed when credit card payment is processed. We will email you a confirmation of your reservation within 24 hours of submission. Normal check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 p.m. Late check-out is subject to charge.
Special Requests
We will make every effort to fulfill your preference requests; however they are not guaranteed as rooms are assigned at check-in.
Taxes
Room rates do not include 4.166% Hawaii State General Excise Tax and 7.25% Hawaii Transient Accommodations Tax. Taxes will be added to the total charges at check-out. Taxes are subject to change without notice and any increases will be passed on to the guest.
Daily car rental rates do not include a 4.166% Hawaii State General Excise Tax. Daily car rental plus the Hawaii State General Excise Tax are due and payable at time of check-out. Incidental fees assessed by Dollar Rent-A-Car are due and payable to Dollar Rent-A-Car at time of car pick-up.
Car Rental
If you book one of our car inclusive packages, you will pick up and return your car at the Dollar Rent-A-Car location in Kahului Airport on Maui. You can use your name to pick up the car or call us at 800-22-ALOHA to obtain the Dollar confirmation number (allow at least 3 days after making reservation). You will receive a voucher for the car rental at check-out to give to Dollar Rent-A-Car when you return the car. Cars are rented on a 24-hour basis. Cars need to be reserved in the name of the person driving the car. Dollar Rent-A-Car will require a credit card also in the name of the driver for incidental taxes (Hawaii State Vehicle Rental Surcharge, Airport Concession Recovery Fee and Vehicle Licensing and Registration Fee) paid directly to Dollar Rent-A-Car.
These fees are approximately:
Hawaii State Vehicle Rental Surcharge - $3.00 per rental day (Fee will change to $4/day as of Sept. 1, 2008)
Vehicle Licensing and Registration Fee - $0.17 to $0.50 per rental day
Airport Concession Recovery Fee - 8.1%
Drivers must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and major credit card in the driver's name to rent a car. Drivers 21 to 24 years of age are subject to an additional surcharge of $25.00 per day plus tax, per person, paid directly to Dollar Rent-A-Car. Hawaii law requires child restraint seats for all children under 4 years old and less than 40 pounds; these are available for rent from Dollar. If you would like to make any changes, upgrades or ask questions about your car, please call us at 800-22-ALOHA.
CHANGES, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Voluntary Change Fee
Changes to hotel and/or car rental that result in additional monies owed are due and payable at time of change.
Cancellations After Purchase
In all cases, any cancellation of reservations after purchase will result in the below hotel and car rental cancellation penalties. Please allow up to two (2) weeks for a credit to appear on your credit card statement.
For travel January 2, 2008 - December 22, 2008 any cancellations made three (3) days or less prior to arrival will result in a penalty charge of two-nights of the total package price.
For travel December 23, 2008 - January 3, 2009 any cancellations made after November 23, 2008 will result in a penalty charge of the full package price.
Cancellation policy is based upon 12:01 a.m.; day of arrival.
In case of illness or death of passenger, please call 800-22-ALOHA for special assistance.
Refund Policy
Once travel commencement date is reached, the package is totally non-refundable. Partially used packages are non-refundable.
Cancellation fees will be assessed and are non-refundable for any reason, including illness or any other emergencies.
