  • A: You must check out the Hawaiian Green sea turtles while staying with us at the Royal Lahaina. Just off the southern coastline, stop at beaches such as Keawakapu in Kihei, Ulua and Polo Beach in Wailea, as well as Maluaka Beach just south of Makena Landing to see some of the best turtles up close. In West Maui, you can usually spot sea turtles in Kaanapali when snorkeling by Puu Kekaa, as well the point between Napili Bay and Honokeana Cove. During summer months when the surf is calm, Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay are popular sea turtle hot spots as well.
  • A: No trip to Maui is complete without visiting one of the island's picture-perfect waterfalls scattered around Maui and easy to get to from Royal Lahaina Resort. The majority of waterfalls are concentrated along the infamously winding, Road to Hana, along Maui's tropical east coast. Some not-to-be-missed waterfalls include:
    • Twin Falls
    • Lower Puohokamoa Falls
    • Makapipi Falls
    • Wailua Falls
    • Makahiku Falls
  • A: Taking a trip to see the world's largest dormant volcano, Haleakala, is unmistakably a must-do while staying with us at Royal Lahaina Resort. Watching the sun rise or set there is a popular activity amongst tourists and locals alike. Stargazing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and ziplining are other fun activities to explore the massive volcano and see Maui.
  • A: Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Hertz are within 2 miles of the Royal Lahaina Resort. Rental cars can be arranged on-site thru our Guest Relations office, or added on right at booking.

  • A: Yes. Ka'anapali Beachwalk gives you a direct walkway towards the black rock and Whaler's Village. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Whaler's Village from the Royal Lahaina Resort and offers some stops along the way.
  • A: There are many options for getting around Maui to see the sights. The Royal Lahaina's shuttle goes to Lahaina Town & Whaler's Village. There are local public buses, tour buses, trolleys and of course taxi's/Uber. For the Road to Hana, it is recommended to rent a car, as there are many stops along the way that are both scenic and fun.  For an ultimate adventure, book a sightseeing tour through our activities desk for help planning your Maui vacation.
